Here are some questions you might have. We can always give you more answers if you get in touch.

Q. What does the setup fee include?

Our Full Setup Service includes all that needs to be implemented to get your site online, typically within 7 business days (longer if you need addtional feature and functionality).

This means installing and configuring the website software, collecting and adding the content you provide, customising the pages to match your brand, and anything else needed to launch the site on the internet.

Q. What if I don’t have my content ready?

We’ll add whatever content you have within the 1st seven days to at least get your home page ready. However, the maximum setup period is 30 days from the day your sign up. You can still provide your additional content during this time.

After this you’ll be able to go in and add or change text and images on your own. We’ll provide video tutorials on how to do so.

If you wish for us to add more content for you, additional fees may apply.

Q. Will I be able to edit the site by myself?

Absolutely!

We use one of the best and most user-friendly page-editors to make it easy for you to add or change text, images or other content, by just pointing and clicking inside pages.

We’ll provide you with documentation and video tutorials to help you do this.

*If you need it, 1-1 training or personalised video tutorials are also available at an additional cost.

Q. What happens if I cancel the subscription?

You may cancel your subscription at any time by giving us 30 days notice. The request can be submitted via our support system or by email.

After the cancelation date the website will be taken down and you will no longer have access to it or it’s content.

We’ll keep the website files for 30 days just in case you change your mind. After this time we will destroy all website files.

*If you have completed an agreed minimum term and your account is in good standing, ownership of the site is transferred to you.

 

Q. Do I own my website?

This is a monthly subscription-based service with a minimum term agreement. After the minimum term has passed, full ownership is automatically transferred to you.

At that point, you can continue with the subscription or can move your site to another service provider. 

The minimum term is typically 24 months. We will let you know before signing up.

Q. Will I be able to take payments directly on my website?

Yes, we can add a simple payment form so you can securely take online payments from major credit/debit cards via Stripe or PayPal. This is great for one-off service payments, donations or simple products.

Q. Will the website be secure from hacking and viruses?

We are proactive with keeping our website software updated and configured for strong security.

However, no-one can guarantee that a website will never have an issue because we simply cannot control everything. But, if your website was to ever get hacked or infected, we will be there to help you get back on track. 

We take regular backups of our sites so we can restore them to a previous version at no extra cost.

But, in more severe cases we will need to use specialist security experts who will be able to clean things up for you for a fee. 

Q. What's a domain name and do I need one?

Your website will need a domain name. This is the name that someone types into their browser to access your site. For example, mmcdigitalworks.com.

You’ll need to get this in order for your site to properly go live online and we’ll need access to the account for the setup.

We recommend searching for a domain name and purchasing, dynadot.com – you’ll need to pay a small yearly fee.

If you prefer, we can handle this for you for an admin fee. This includes the standard registration cost and the registrar account setup.

You can of course purchase from any registrar of your choice.

 

Q. What if I need additional work done or more features?

Our subscription website service only offers the features or items listed.

However, where possible, we may provide a quote for custom work outside of what our packages include.

Q. How do I access support?

We provide support through our online ticketing system and email, where you can ask us questions and get help if you run into any issues.

You’ll also get access to help documents where you can find tutorials and other helpful information.

Q. What's the difference between this service and cheaper website builder services?

You may have come across heavily promoted cheap subscription website services such as Wix or Squarespace. These are DIY solutions where you’ll have to set up your website yourself, plus there are lots of limitations that you’ll run into when using these platforms because they are closed (proprietary) systems.

We use an open system that allows you a lot more flexibility, and you get the option to own the site completely.

With those others, you never get to own the site or move it somewhere else. If you leave, you have to rebuild on a new platform.

Here, we’re taking care of setting things up for you and looking after the technical upkeep and support, and we have your best interests at heart.
